Graham "Logo" Smith and His Interesting Logo Blog

As someone who is interested in graphic design and marketing, I find Graham Smith's blog to be very fascinating. I found myself drawn to his blog because he essentially shares other ideas and images that are not his own, then infuses his own thoughts to create a post. His blog acts not just as an area where his thoughts come out, but a place where one can see a variety of opinions, logos, and various other things. I feel reading this blog will allow me to see the viewpoints and works of multiple professionals in the field, while giving me Smith's perspective on it.

The last three posts have a range. The most recent post was about a new "AV" logo he designed that is for sale, while describing his experience in the business and describing what all is included with the purchase of the logo. The second most recent post has Smith sharing NASA's confirmed logo for Exploration Mission-1, while merely saying he is excited to see the next logo. The third most recent is, again, something he is sharing. This time it is a map of Japan, with company logos placed where the business' main offices are located. It was an interesting find.

Overall, I think his blog posts benefit from his views being intertwined with the work of others. If you want to check out his blog, you can do so by clicking this link: https://imjustcreative.com/blog

Excited to see where he goes next! And as always, thanks for reading!

Storyboards a Plenty

Working on a storyboard has helped me appreciate them more. Originally, I thought it was a bit of a waste of time. If they were doodles and not decently more detailed, I would've understood them, but for years I thought storyboards had too much detail to the point that its original purpose was a little lost. However, having made this one, I totally see why there's still a fair amount of detail in a storyboard. Without those tiny details, a scene can't truly come to life, so they are necessary. I think working on this was great for giving me a better perspective on the purpose a storyboard serves, and I would gladly do one again, knowing now how helpful they actually are.

Hi-llo! Welcome to my Blog!

So first, if you haven't seen my YouTube intro video, here ya go: If you have, hi! Again, my name is Harrison Jones, and I am currently majoring in Integrated Digital Media and Game Design. I decided to major in this area because I love creating media using a computer. When I was younger I created videos in Movie Maker using footage I recorded with a cheap little camera and uploaded them to YouTube. Having spent my whole life watching videos, creating and sharing Photoshop edits, and playing video games while dabbling a very small bit in modding, I realized the only natural place to go from there is to focus on these aspects for a career. While I will admit I don't use them enough, I do enjoy playing around with a variety of tools, and I hope my classes will allow me to learn even more about them than I would on my own. As for what job I see myself working, I expect I will take a normal IT job at first since it will be easy to find one. However, I intend to one day work ...

Snowman vs. Stickman: A Battle for the Ages!

So I made an animation for the first time, and it's actually really cool! I've never made a gif before, and never knew how easy it was with online resources! Drawing each frame and compiling them, I thought it would look much worse than it does, but it actually looks really good. I realize now how animation, while it can be an extreme challenge if you want extremely smooth animation, can be an easy field to start getting into. While it takes a while to get really great at it, the fact that you can get into it at such a low level encourages me to try it some more. Overall, this project served as huge motivation for me, and I'm glad I got to do it!
